Founder

Aron Strong, lmft

Aron has a passion helping couples and individuals find the intimacy, joy, peace and purpose they long for. He has over 20 years combined experience of pastoral and professional counseling and has significant expertise and experience in emotions, relationships, and other attachment traumas and issues.

An AAMFT Approved Supervisor, Aron has personally trained and supervised every therapist at Pathways Counseling. In addition, Aron supervises and regularly trains therapists and professional counselors to utilize integrated therapeutic approaches through his modality Attuned Systemic Repair, working with complex issues including trauma, personality disorders, and complex family system, as well as integrating faith into therapy.

Aron is the founder of Pathways Counseling. He is also the co-founder of inRelationship, a company that provides talks, trainings, workshops, courses, and other resources the public, therapists and other professional counselors, churches, and corporations on topics of relationships, emotions, empathic engagement, restoring intimacy and connection, faith, and more.

Lisbeth Vance, lmft

Lisbeth’s own counseling experience led her to the desire to help others grow and live their healthiest life. Lisbeth is experienced in working with emotional and relational distress and trauma of all kinds. She enjoys working with both couples and individuals and is especially experienced in working with marriages, trauma, and complex family systems.

As a training and education site, Lisbeth oversees Pathway’s Graduate Intern Program and coordinates with universities locally and across the country in selecting the best interns for our program. In addition, she oversees all of the administrative details of the Graduate Intern Program as well many duties for our Murfreesboro location.

Lisbeth is a wife and mom to three boys and a little girl. She loves spending time with her family and watching hockey games together. She looks forward to getting to know each one of her clients and working with them to achieve their goals.

 

Community Ambassador

Megan Ballou, LMFT

Megan works with older teens and adults with struggles including trauma, eating disorders, life transitions, complex family systems, relational issues, and other general emotional struggles.

Meganʼs goal for every client is to lead them into a fuller and happier life. She works with her clients to work through past and current struggles and build the necessary tools to overcome life’s struggles. In addition to life stage transitions, family issues, and more, Megan is trained and experienced in trauma therapy including EMDR.

Megan is also our Community Ambassador, developing our ever expanding relationships with other therapists and professional counselors, psychiatrists and medication providers, medical professionals, clinics and hospitals, schools and colleges, as well as other local community organizations.

Amy Frazee, LPC-MHSP

Amy completed her bachelor’s degree in biblical counseling and master’s degree in professional counseling while her kids were growing. Amy loves to work with clients of all ages who struggle with grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.

Amy sees clients across the age spectrum from the age of 5 to the elderly. As a play therapist, Amy utilizes her training and experience in Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and other child appropriate approaches. As a trauma therapist, Amy utilizes EMDR and other valid therapeutic techniques to help clients reclaim safety and security. She integrates attachment, emotion, and interpersonal neurobiological approaches for the best outcomes with every client regardless of age, gender, culture or disability.

Amy loves to travel, crochet, and read true stories of people who have faced insurmountable odds and survived. She fully believes that real life is crazier than fiction.

 
 

Hunter Dycus, LMFT

Hunter has a passion for walking with people through difficult struggles with compassion and understanding. He believes that we all are created to need supportive relationships and connection. Without safe and connected relationships, challenges in life feel even more difficult and hard to navigate. Hunter strives to be a model of safe and connected relationships with his clients.

Trained and experienced in working with attachment issues, he works with adolescents, individuals, couples, and families struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, boundary issues, family relationship issues, and more. With years of experience as a youth minister and in addiction treatment, he brings a wealth of life experience to his skills as a therapist.

Hunter and his wife have a young son and a dog. They love the outdoors, football, and great food.

Jake Glover, MMFT

After more than a decade in professional youth ministry, Jake transitioned to professional counseling. As a therapist, Jake brings his long-standing passion to help others grow to Pathways. Jake’s extensive experience training has prepared him to serve our community by working with individuals, couples, and families.

Trained in attachment science as well as emotion and somatic processing, Jake helps couples and individuals uncover the source of their distress and facilitate new experiences and skills to repair and move forward with security, confidence, and joy. He believes people’s unique experiences and perspectives matter and works with clients to discover the best outcomes for the struggles they face.

Jake and his wife, also a therapist, have two sons. He enjoys sports, puns, and baking cakes.

 
 

Jessica Ricalday, MMFT

Jessica believes everyone should feel connected and supported on their path to healing. Her time working as an advocate for victims/survivors of trauma inspired her to become a therapist.

Jessica is passionate about working with a variety of individuals, particularly children and adolescents who’ve experienced trauma or adversity. She strives to create a safe space where clients can restore a sense of safety through connection. She utilizes an attachment-based approach and incorporates experiential learning such as movement, story, play and expressive arts.

Jessica has twin teenage boys and a cat. She enjoys being active, rock climbing, rollerblading, and being in nature.

 
 

James robinson, LPC-Temp

James is passionate about helping clients become better connected with themselves and others. He believes that when people are healthy and connected, they can find the freedom to live a life of purpose and passion.

James works with a variety of ages and backgrounds. With over a decade in church ministry and non-profit experience, he is passionate about working with the whole person- mentally, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually.

James has an innately caring and connecting presence. His easy going manner sets clients at ease while helping them engage in their areas of difficulty. He enjoys working with individuals, couples and families.

James received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University and is working towards full licensure. He and his wife have three children, eleven chickens, and one dog.

 
 

Britton Virden, Intake Coordinator

Britton believes that human beings are wired for connection with others and experience the highest levels of happiness and health in relationship. The wounds experienced in relationships can prevent us from experiencing the safety and intimacy we long for. He wants to help clients connect with therapists to help them work through the wounds and issues that keep them from experiencing all the goodness life and relationships have to offer.

Britton transitioned into professional counseling from law enforcement, where he began to observe the harmful effects of day-to-day stress on his personal life and relationships. Having experienced trauma first-hand, he is passionate about people, their stories, and enabling each client to experience safety and connectedness within themselves and with others.

Britton enjoys strength training, hunting, reading history, and riding and working on motorcycles. He lives in Cookeville with his wife and is working towards a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Tennessee Tech University.
